Botched boob job almost killed me, says Tabatha Coffey Posted: 29 Nov 2010 02:58 AM PST Tabatha Coffey has revealed that a botched boob surgery almost killed her when her implant apparently ruptured an artery and infected her chest. "It was an incredibly traumatic ordeal," The New York Post quoted her from her upcoming book 'It”s Not Really About the Hair'. "I had lusted after bigger boobs for years, and then they almost killed me," 'Tabatha”s Salon Takeover' star said. Days after the surgery, her left breast moved up under her arm and onto her shoulder. After extreme pain, she had the implants removed. "I was better off accepting my real boobs," she said. |
SuBo to ‘star in musical of her own life’ Posted: 29 Nov 2010 02:57 AM PST Reports are abuzz that Susan Boyle's amazing rise to fame is all set to be turned into a musical, with Boyle herself playing the lead role. The singer is in the final stages of planning the stage show, which tells her entire life story, including her years living with her moggy back in Blackburn before her world-famous telly audition last year. "I”m definitely going to be on stage. I”d rather that than having to sit watching people up there looking like me," the Sun quoted Boyle as saying. "I want to be doing the music parts, so I”ll be coming in and out of the show. I”m looking forward to doing some live work. It”ll be really nice to see so many of the people who have supported me in person," she added. "Susan has incredibly loyal fans. People will be travelling from all over the world to see her perform in her own musical. I wouldn”t be surprised if some of them book tickets to watch it five nights in a row," said an insider. The show organisers are planning a nationwide tour next year. |
Lily Allen may plan New Year wedding to tide over baby grief Posted: 29 Nov 2010 02:55 AM PST Actress Lily Allen, who suffered the tragic loss of her unborn baby earlier this month, is planning a New Year wedding to tide over her grief. The devastating ordeal seems to have only strengthened her relationship with boy friend Sam Cooper. "Lily and Sam had loose plans to marry after the baby was born but nothing concrete was in motion," the Daily Mail quoted a friend of the pair as saying. "Now they have decided they want to be man and wife as soon as possible. They realised through their grief that they absolutely adore one another and cannot live without each other," the friend added. Allen, 25, had described builder Cooper, 32, as 'the love of her life' and the couple, which has been dating since summer last year, are said to be looking at a wedding in Gloucestershire in England. Allen is keen to hold the ceremony at her actor father Keith Allen's luxury home in the Cotswolds market town of Minchinhampton. "Lily is very close to her dad and she took him up on his offer of holding the wedding at his," said the friend. "She loves his country pad and she and Sam feel it is absolutely right for them to marry there. They want to be together after what they”ve gone through and see becoming man and wife as the light at the end of the tunnel," the friend added. A spokesman for the couple, however, has denied that they are engaged. |
JK Rowling may win Oscar for the latest Potter film Posted: 29 Nov 2010 02:54 AM PST Novelist J. K. Rowling has been credited for the first time as producer on the latest film adaptation of her Harry Potter series, which possibly leaves the author in line to win an Oscar. This means Rowling – worth an estimated 800 million pounds– could walk down the red carpet to collect an Oscar for 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1', should the film win the Best Picture category. Nominations for the 83rd Academy Awards will be announced in January, ahead of the ceremony in February. The film earned more than 210 million pounds when it opened last weekend, and is likely to be the highest earner in the seven-film series. "Jo had the option of taking a producer credit as early as the fourth film, but she chose not to until the final two films," the Daily Mail quoted David Heyman, who has produced all the films, as saying. "Things were coming to an end and she wanted to put her stamp on it," he said. However, the mother of three has always influenced production, insisting that the films be shot in Britain with an all-British cast. Rowling, 45, who was once a struggling single mother, has sold more than 400 million books worldwide since the first Harry Potter was published in 1997. Harry Potter is the most successful film franchise in history, selling 3.7 billion pounds worth of tickets. |
Gaga, Usher, Kardashian ‘play dead’ to raise money for World AIDS Day Posted: 29 Nov 2010 02:49 AM PST Kim Kardashian has posed dead in a coffin for a new advert promoting The Digital Life Sacrifice, an internet campaign in which stars including Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Usher will quit social networking sites to raise money for charity. As a part of the campaign a host of celebrities will log off social networking sites and not sign back in until 1 million dollars has been raised, reports the Daily Mail. It is being organised by Alicia Keys” Keep A Child Alive charity for World AIDS Day on Tuesday. Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Seacrest, Elijah Wood, Serena Williams and Swizz Beatz are also taking part. They have filmed ”last tweet and testament” videos which will appear in ads showing them in coffins to represent what the campaign calls their digital deaths. Lady Gaga has more than seven million Twitter followers – while 3.5 million have signed up for Justin Timberlake”s tweets. Alica Keys is the first global ambassador for the Keep A Child Alive charity. She said today that no celebrity had turned down her request to take part. "Once I got people on the phone and I was able to paint the concept for them, everybody was in," she said. "We”re trying to sort of make the remark: Why do we care so much about the death of one celebrity as opposed to millions and millions of people dying in the place that we”re all from?" Leigh Blake, president and co-founder of the charity, said. |
‘I thought I was dead” says sick Peter Andre Posted: 29 Nov 2010 02:48 AM PST Peter Andre thought he was dying when he was rushed to hospital with stomach pains on Friday, the star revealed to his friends and family. Andre had to undergo emergency surgery in the medical drama, which saw him raced to the Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, Somerset, in the early hours of Friday morning. "He was on all fours riddled with pain when his road manager walked into his room," the Daily Mail quoted the source as telling the Daily Star. "Pete was really frightened for his life. He felt very disorientated and did not know what was wrong with him," the source added. Although it has still not been revealed what Andre is suffering from, he made a speedy recovery from the surgery and was discharged last night. He was due to play the Plymouth Pavilions on Friday night and Butlins in Minehead yesterday, but was forced to disappoint his fans. The Butlins concert will now go ahead today instead and the Plymouth Pavilions gig was rescheduled to December 21. Andre will not be able to dance but is promising the "vocal performance of a lifetime". "All other tour dates will be unaffected and will run to schedule. Peter would like to thank everyone for their support and their messages. We apologise to all of Peter”s fans and appreciate their support and understanding," a statement on Andre's website said. Andre”s manager Claire Powell said the singer had been "terribly disappointed" that he was unable to perform at Friday”s sold-out show which was due to kick off his UK tour. Writing in his column for New! magazine this week, Andre revealed he”d been feeling ill for some time. "I”m sorry to say that I haven”t been feeling too great these last couple of weeks. I don”t know what”s wrong with me but I”ve got some ongoing health problems, and I”ve been having lots of tests at the hospital, he wrote. "I also had an MRI scan last week, so hopefully the doctors will get to the bottom of it soon. "I just don”t feel right and I”m gutted because I had to pull out of the Pride Of Britain Awards because I felt so rough. Hopefully, I”ll be on the mend soon though," he added. Pete also complained of stomach pains last week on his ITV2 reality TV show and has previously suffered from gallstones. |
Divorce won’t stop me adopting, says Eva Longoria Posted: 29 Nov 2010 02:44 AM PST She may have divorced her husband, but Eva Longoria won't let that stop her from adopting children. The Desperate Housewives actress, who split from her basketball star husband Tony Parker after finding out that he had been texting one of her girlfriends, wants to adopt a child from Haiti as a single mother. Longoria, who married Parker in 2007, had spoken about adopting before the break-up and now her friends have revealed that she plans to press on – and follow the example of Sandra Bullock. "Eva had her heart set on adopting a child from Haiti,' says a source. 'She so wants to be a mother. She wanted to adopt with Tony, but she's happy to go ahead as a single parent and is very excited after what's been a dark period," the Daily Mail quoted a friend as saying. Longoria has become attached to Haiti ever since the earthquake ravaged the island in January. She has immersed herself in fundraising work to help the devastated island. She has also indicated in the past that the sick Latino children she meets in her work with the California-based charity Padres Contra El Cáncer had inspired her to adopt. "Every time I work with kids from Padres, my heart explodes with happiness and joy. They're so inspiring,' she said. 'I could only wish to have children as strong," Longoria had said. |
Justin Timberlake campaigning hard for Oscar nomination Posted: 29 Nov 2010 02:41 AM PST Justin Timberlake is working in high gear to get nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category in Oscars for his role in the 'The Social Network'. A source close to Timberlake, 29, who's currently filming sci-fi thriller 'Now' in Los Angeles with Amanda Seyfried, said that the singer is leaving no stones unturned to get nominated. "He's hell-bent on getting a nomination this year even though he has tough competition from his co-star Andrew Garfield," the New York Post quoted the source as saying. "Sony is footing the bill for advertising the awards campaign, but Justin is also doing things his own way, including attending Academy screenings on his own and privately reaching out to award winners and Academy darlings Tom Hanks and Kevin Spacey for campaigning advice," the source added. Timberlake faces competition not only from Garfield but also from Geoffrey Rush, who has played a speech therapist in 'The King”s Speech,' and Christian Bale, who stars as the trainer to boxer Micky Ward (played by Mark Wahlberg) in 'The Fighter', which opens Dec. 17. Timberlake's reps declined to comment, but another source confirmed, "He's doing everything to support 'Social Network'." |
